The MonoCorTenpura #1
The 17 String MonoCorTenpura: A Fusion of Steel and Sound
Crafted from corten steel, the original MonoCorTenpura marks the beginning of an exploration into sound as sculpture. Initially conceived as a monochord, an unexpected discovery in the bridge design transformed its voice—revealing the droning, rich tones reminiscent of a traditional Indian tanpura.
This 17-string instrument is where the sonic identity of the MonoCorTenpura was first realized. Raw and meditative, it carries a twang-inflected resonance that bridges simplicity and depth, laying the foundation for future evolutions of the form.
Both a musical instrument and a sculptural artwork, it embodies the intersection of material, experimentation, and sound.
This piece is a one-of-a-kind artwork, signed and dated by the artist, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
